How do I boot Linux when windows is hibernated?
I want to be able to hibernate Windows, then boot Linux so that I can quickly boot Windows when I need to. Problem is, when Windows is hibernated, the computer boots to Windows automatically without showing an OS selection screen. How do I fix this?
I have Ubuntu. Also, when a computer is hibernated, it is completely powered off. Hibernation just saves memory data to the disk for later reload.

You can’t. A hibernated system isn’t shut down, it’s “sleeping.” You have to shut a system down completely before running another one.

What you are doing should work, the only reason I see that it wouldn’t is if you are using Windows as your boot manager. If you are using Grub as your boot manager then you must be doing an advanced suspend function instead of hibernation. I could imagine a third party hibernation program using the service partition, though I don’t know any specifics about that.
