Do I need a linux os to run it?
Is there any third party software I need?
Is LFS a programming language?

What can I do to get the code if I were to base it off of Ubuntu?

I would like to know how to write a program, even if it is really simple. I don’t care what it is, as long as I can write and run it on Linux (Ubuntu 10.4LTS) I am a beginner with almost no programming experience, I don’t know any codes. All help is appreciated, and please keep it simple, and tell me what I can do that is easy. Thanks. Best answer goes to the person with the easiest working explanation, or guide.
